Description
Indus/Gemini 1S. A conventional hard-wired emergency stop is usually mounted on the machine. In an awkward position, away from the machine or in a situation where the mechanic is stuck, it is impossible for him to reach the emergency stop. This can have fatal consequences. A portable, wireless emergency stop like the Tyro Indus Gemini is the answer!
THE EMERGENCY STOP THAT IS ALWAYS WITHIN REACH!
Portable, wireless emergency stop button Indus Gemini
People often think that having an emergency stop hardwired minimizes the risk of a failure and guarantees 100% safety to the mechanic. From a technical point of view, the wired emergency stop seems absolutely safe. But is that always the case?
The Indus 1S is even safer now
The Indus 1S is completely new. In addition to an improved radio protocol with the chance of interference from other transmitters drastically reduced, the Indus1 now works via narrowband 868 MHz. Furthermore the range has been improved to 700 meters in open field and Tyro has gone a step further in eliminating all possible risks by providing two emergency stop relays in the system. The system is provided with an EC type-examination certification and in compliance to the machine directives with Performance Level C (PL c). The Indus 1S cannot be combined with the first series Indus/Gemini.
Usage time and charging
The Indus 1S has a usage life of 50 hours continuous transmitting. When the wireless emergency stop is charging the system becomes non active. The transmitter is equipped with a Lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery 1950 mAh. Charging is best done in a temperature between 10°C and 45°C. The transmitter can however be used at temperatures between 0°C and 60°C.
The technical operation of the wireless emergency stop
The transmitter with emergency stop sends orders to the receiver as soon as the remote control is switched on. Activating the emergency stop is done simply by pulling up the emergency stop in a small circular motion. As soon as the transmitter is beyond the range of the receiver, while charging, or when the emergency stop is pressed the correct amount of orders do not come in to the receiver and the receiver will go into emergency stop. The emergency stop button with Performance Level c makes it possible to combine with 1 transmitter with 1 receiver.
Is wireless safe?
Are the situations in which a mechanic works for the maintenance and failures allow him to reach the emergency stop. Can he press the emergency stop button in case of life threatening situations? No, not always! In situations where the mechanic is away from the machine or is stuck, it is impossible for him to reach the hard-wired emergency stop on the machine. This can have fatal consequences for him.
Gain valuable seconds
The fixed wired emergency stop is usually mounted on the machine. In an awkward position, distance or entrapment the mechanic cannot reach the mounted emergency stop, with all its consequences. With the Indus 1S Gemini wireless emergency stop you anticipate these risks and save you valuable – life-saving – seconds.
Sturdy, light-weight and compact size
The compact transmitter with the mushroom-shaped emergency stop button can easily be attached to the belt. The Tyro Indus 1S Gemini: safety and functionality at its best!
