Taurus – Wireless Dead Man’s Switch

The Taurus, in combination with the Gemini receiver, is a remote control with a secure wireless dead man's switch (enabling switch). This hold to run switch is also called a kill or release switch.

The wireless handheld with special switch has 3 positions: OFF-ON-OFF and is used for machines and appliances where the presence and attention of the operator is essential for safety. Thanks to its ergonomic and user friendly design, it is possible to keep the button pressed for a long time without getting tired.

The machine or robot can only work if the switch is lightly pressed.  If the switch is released or pressed hard, the machine or robot stops.  This prevents dangerous situations if, for example, the operator becomes unwell, receives an electric shock or falls down.

With the Taurus, Tyro Remotes has realised a wireless remote control dead man's button that switches off if the (human) control fails. The Taurus is also available in combination with the Aquarius receiver where multiple transmitters can be combined to one single receiver.  The applications in which the Taurus offers a solution are numerous and include the commissioning of machines during (critical) assembly/maintenance work in a hazardous environment, work in a cage with an active robot or work in/on a production line.
